In 1979 Bryant F. Tolles, Jr., and Carolyn K. Tolles lovingly researched New Hampshire’s architectural treasures and selected the nearly four hundred extraordinary buildings described and illustrated in New Hampshire Architecture. Even twenty-five years later most of these structures still exist. Concise, interesting, and accurate written descriptions and maps accompany clear illustrations of churches, old mills, barns, mansions, libraries, and schools. Tourists and residents alike will be pleased to find the book, long out-of-print, is available once more.

BRYANT F. TOLLES, JR., is professor emeritus of history and art history at the University of Delaware. He has written and edited many books, including Summer Cottages in the White Mountains, Resort Hotels of the Adirondacks, and Summer by the Seaside: The Architecture of New England Coastal Resort Hotels.

CAROLYN K. TOLLES has worked in the nonprofit development field for over twenty-five years, commencing with Historic Salem, Massachusetts, Inc. where she had extensive exposure to historic architecture. Currently, she is a development officer at Crhistiana Care Health System, Wilmington, Delaware.
