Summer Beam Books
was established in 1998 when we purchased the inventory of Lofty Branch Books. We are a small, independent book business specializing in timber framing, log building, house design and construction, alternative building, woodworking, and various related topics. The business was founded to serve as the “Book Fair” at the Builders Association, the New York State Barn Coalition, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, and currently working to establish a relationship with the Landmark Society of Western New York.
Though most of the books we sell are new, we do have some used and out-of-print titles as well. We will do our best to give an accurate description of the condition of used and out-of-print titles. If you are searching for a title that is not listed in our stack, please let us know and we will check into it for you. We are always interested in titles we don't know about.
The business is run by a professional librarian; with the assistance of a timberframer/woodworker. Please do not hesitate to contact us with a question or suggestions. The best time to talk directly to us is weekday evenings between 5-9 pm est, or on weekends. We don't have a retail shop, but you can visit us by appointment.
Our goal is to have satisfied customers and to help people find the information they are seeking. We look forward to working with you.
Charlotte and Bill.
